Can you make money selling on TopHatter? Do you know what this site is and how you actually earn cash? Whatever the answer is, feel free to read on. I’ll go over briefly what TopHatter is, how you make money and other information you’ll find useful.
What Is TopHatter
TopHatter is a similar site to eBay, in the way that it is a live auction site. Items are placed up for sale on the site and consumers can bid on them. Like eBay, TopHatter has a Buy Now option, which is exactly what it sounds like. The company is located in San Francisco, California/USA and they were founded in 2009.
People go to the site to place bids and/or to buy stuff outright, while others place items to sell with the hopes of making money.

You can sell just about anything on TopHatter. At the time of this writing, the top selling categories on the site are as followed:
. Electronics
. Jewelry

As you can imagine, you can sell just about anything on the site. What you should sell, well that’s another story and there’s so many factors that come into play. For starters, you can sell things that are laying around your home or office that you don’t need anymore. You can try to sell clothing too because clothing and fashion in general have long been popular categories for sellers on many other sites.
Reviews: What Are Others Saying About TopHatter
I’m not going to lie, I actually can’t find a ton of reviews from sellers. I’ve come across a handful on various sites. The majority of the reviews (at least the ones I’ve found) were positive in nature. It seems like the only issue some sellers have or some people have are in regards to the seller fees.
Should You Give TopHatter As A Seller Try
Before I tell you what I think, you should keep the following in mind:
. Seller Fees- There are a number of seller fees you could be subjected to. Not only that, TopHatter can change selling terms at any given time. If you sell an item on the site, then the fees will be deducted and then you’ll be paid. The different fees you might have to pay include commission fees, scheduling fees, processing fees and reserve fees.

. Bargain Hunters- There’s nothing wrong with bargain hunting, at all. However, in my opinion the majority of people who use TopHatter to find things to buy are looking for the cheapest prices possible. This is typical with a lot of auction sites.
. Many Users- There appears to be many users of TopHatter, if you go by the number of app downloads they have. On Google Play alone, TopHatter has over 10 million app installs.
. Guaranteed Exposure- At the time of this writing, on TopHatter’s website, it mentions that merchants receive guaranteed exposure.
FInal Verdict
It’s up to you if you should try to make money as a seller on the site. In my opinion, selling items on Amazon or eBay is a better option than selling on TopHatter, but nonetheless it’s still another place to try. If you haven’t had any luck with selling on other sites, then give TopHatter a try.
